I have never heard anything like this before, and I am left devastated.
Rampur resident Leema was pregnant. On 25 March 2017, she suffered abdominal pain and was taken to a hospital. Since the pain got worse, she was shifted from the ward to a room, where she gave birth to a healthy girl. However, something very sinister was about to unfold right there.
Shortly after the delivery, Leema’s mother Faqra, and mother-in-law Farah arrived at the room. The two old women had a discussion with Leema … about murdering the newborn. WHAT? WHY? This unlucky baby was the result of Leema’s extramarital affair, and these three women decided to kill her to prevent the cheating from being exposed.
As per their plan, Farah stood by the door to keep a watch outside. Faqra covered the baby’s face with a cloth and strangled her … right in the lap of that heartless woman who had every chance to turn into a ‘mother’ but she didn’t.
Shortly after, the nurse found the baby not breathing. She called the doctor. When he looked at the dead baby, he saw the skin around her neck turned blue. Also, some blood was wiped from her face.
The police arrived and the lifeless baby was taken to IGMC Hospital, Shimla. The postmortem confirmed death by strangulation. The three women were questioned and the reason was discovered.
Recently, after hearing 20 witnesses and looking at all the scientific evidence, Leema, Faqra, and Farah were sentenced to life imprisonment and ordered to pay 2 lakh rupees fine. RIP, the innocent little child.
